Skin Tags

Skin tags are harmless benign skin growths that look like a piece of hanging skin. Some people are more prone to skin tags through being overweight, they can be hereditary or develop through unknown causes. Friction is thought to be the most common cause. Both men and women can develop skin tags. Occasionally some of the smaller skin tags may rub or fall off on their own without the person being aware of it. Most tags do not fall off and remain permanently.
Skin tags can appear in many places on the body, more oftene on the neck,
underarms, groin, under the breasts, between the legs, most commonly where the
skin rubs against skin.
Skin tags may occur on anyone but are usually found in adults. They are much
more common in middle age.
Removing skin tags is permanent, but there are some people who may be more
prone to developing skin tags and may have new growths periodically.
How electrolysis treats skin tags
A very fine disposable needle is inserted at the base of the skin tag and an electrical current is applied which travels down the needle and cuts of the blood supply to the skin tag. With no blood supply feeding the skin tag, it will dry up and usually fall off within a few days. Some larger tags may take longer to fall off. Once a tag falls off it will not return.
